Utilized a ball to emphasize to train soviet bouncing. I mentioned this form of footwork earlier in the 100 days as bending the knees inward to take advantage of the natural "bounce" created by the human body's physiology. It's a work in progress and the training muscle memory can be witnessed in the later rounds sans ball.
The front arm is also used like a joust and creates the ability to manage distance with an opponent at the same time cause damage without moving the entire distance from high-guard to full extension. This embodies the usefulness of the entire body chain when throwing a punch. The strike starts the legs and the energy created is unleashed in the last 8 inches of space rather than winding up the the upper torso without syncing with the most powerful movement the body can create; hip rotation borne from the large muscles in the leg and lower leg.
