Cross-training today. Warmed up with a run with my dogs, then did five full-speed 40-yard dashes. Feeling that good kind of muscle soreness in my back and hip flexors. Sprinting is excellent for full-body recovery and connection. It engages all muscles in natural, primal movements.
Boxing is by far the superior sport for both anaerobic and aerobic health and improvement. It cannot be matched. I feel my body is operating a level of high conditioning. My body is in a position to tackle any athletic event because boxing essentially trains all the major muscle groups including eye-hand coordination and accuracy. Aside from focused weight training to maintain strength.
Next, I'm planning a series focused on minimal equipment, using the ground and gravity for gains. Following a gladiator-style diet with beans, lentils, and occasional red meat. Combining it with favorite treats like sardines, yogurt, kraut, beets, and greens for a holistic and sustainable lifestyle. Goal: not just beach-ready results but a mentally and physically healthy life with low inflammation.
I am committing to running sprints once a week.
