I incorporated a slack line into my training routine to enhance head movement, angles, footwork, and strikes. The challenging aspect of pivoting on the front foot and striking simultaneously while weaving under the rope helped me connect a longer range lead hook with a “snap”. I've decided to include it in all future sessions. The presence of the rope keeps me accountable. Prior to using the rope, I would bob, weave, and slip, thinking I was moving effectively. However, the rope revealed the importance of short, precise movements originating from my legs, providing tangible feedback. It's amazing how a simple rope across the combat zone can simulate a real opponent. This new feedback system allows me to combine my imagination with a practical evaluation.

Recently, I've been self-conscious about my training, questioning whether I'm developing bad habits and if my skills will translate to facing a real-world, unpredictable opponent. Without a coach, it's challenging to be sure. With the feedback from the rope, I can train and move with an external perspective, gaining insights beyond my own self-assessment.
