Travel day to Los Angeles to visit family for the holidays. I did some pull ups, swing, and rope climbing. Was spooked by a local working out. I think I fight better when I’m scared.
This encounter highlighted the significance of when and how to approach each situation. Should I consistently assess potential threats, remain vigilant, and actively avoid unnecessary interactions? Amidst these considerations, a pivotal question emerged: "Can I effectively apply my training, or will I default to the structured rules of boxing, a formal sport, in a street fight?" Addressing the latter was tough. I train for three rounds of action with one-minute rest, nothing below the belt.
It's not that I lack the capability for a no-holds-barred street brawler training mentality, but rather, my training focuses on a regulated framework, though my skills may still prove applicable in a real conflict. Avoidable risk is easy to manage. However, I stay vigilant.
