3 rounds of rope again. 3 rounds of specific foot work: I tap each foot on a basketball in the center of the box and throw punches as I move around the ball left to right. This is an intense movement.

I'm already experiencing the positive effects of striking without a solid base. This particular movement allows for the targeted training of specific and disjointed motions of the rotation of the hips and shoulders.

It's reminiscent of a cat's ability to rotate its body mid-air when falling, showcasing the capacity to execute precise movements without being grounded.

Training this sensation and muscle chain is a game-changer. I've developed a strong comfort level with my core and rotation, even in the absence of a robust ground connection. This training approach facilitates flexibility, emphasizing the swift release of tension from high knees to free up my shoulder for effective punches. Sustaining this movement for more than 1-2 minutes is tough, and I intend to use this time as a benchmark for future progress.

Towards the end of the session, I start to sense a familiar pain—indicative of a shin splint. This is an unwelcome development. For complete healing, I'll need to shift my focus to other movements temporarily. I anticipate an increase in striking in the future, but for now, my priority is to elevate and ice the left shin.
