Feeling really strong today.

3 rounds of rope. 3 rounds of specific combos on the bag: 2 uppercuts, 2 hooks, 2 straight. The combo builds from the body to the head in quick succession. I enjoy the simplicity and begin working up and down the body. 2 rounds of free movement and strikes.

This post is what will set this blog apart from others. Over the course of the last 27 days, I have had different muscle groups reacting to a new daily boxing regimen and associated pain in joints and muscles across the body.

Today's workout was accompanied by a sense of strength and energy, allowing me to tackle a large volume of aerobic and anaerobic exercise.

However, I've reached a point where the mindset of pushing myself relentlessly for new personal records or milestones every day is no longer my primary goal. Instead, I am focused on maintaining this high-performance state, where strength achievements are a natural outcome of prioritizing overall health and finding true enjoyment in my workouts.

This realization is borne from over two decades of experience in competitive and professional sports. It's akin to an out-of-body sensation, observing my progress and recognizing that sustained improvement may not occur at the same rapid pace as the initial month of adapting to high-impact training. Fact: early changes in my body will not keep this pace.

I believe adopting this mindset will serve me in two ways: first, by cultivating a heightened presence of mind and focus, as I release the pressure of pushing myself to the absolute limit; and second, by prioritizing workouts that contribute to my well-being, considering the day-to-day variations in soreness, fuel intake, and mental state.

Maintaining consistency in the face of these challenges is what separates elite athletes from those who workout for other purposes. I am growing and stronger than I've been in a long time and feel good with whatever effort I have to give on a specific workout.
